Mormon Initiative Aims to Promote Upcoming Worldwide Meeting

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Europe will launch a new video initiative on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 to create awareness for their upcoming General Conference event.

General Conference is an event where Mormons worldwide gather twice yearly to hear Church leaders speak on a variety of spiritual topics. You can learn more about General Conference here.

The initiative, entitled, “They Spoke to Us”, consists of 16 videos containing messages from church leaders that are translated into 23 languages. These videos will be shared on Facebook and on the Church’s European Country Pages.

The launch video features Elder Neil L. Andersen testifying of how we hear the voice of the Lord in the teachings of His servants at General Conference.

This initiative aims to create awareness for General Conference, as well as help individuals prepare mentally and spiritually for a weekend filled with sermons from church leaders.

Brian Cordray, Europe Area Publishing Services Manager, said, “Ideally, we hope that as people watch the daily videos and feel the sweet spirit that accompanies these inspired messages that they will have a greater desire to be a part of this April’s General Conference.”

Cordray added, “We rejoice in hearing from our new prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, and are excited to sustain him, his counselors, as well as all other leaders of the Church.”

Last year’s General Conference initiative reached 3.3 million people, was viewed 1.3 million times, and had 40K reactions, comments, and shares. This initiative succeeded in generating more awareness for the event and creating excitement to hear from Mormon prophets, seers, and revelators.

All individuals are invited to tune in to the General Conference sessions, which are held on March 31st and April 1st. Information on how to find these live sessions can be found here.
