“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is responding to natural disasters caused by heavy rains and flooding in the last two days in several areas of Bosnia and Serbia. Almost all rivers and streams have overflowed, causing extensive damage. Traffic on many roads has been stopped and landslides are occurring. Villages, houses and commercial buildings are threatened and many citizens have been evacuated.
Funds and humanitarian aid have been approved to assist in water treatment and to supply tools, pumps and other needed items. Humanitarian service officials from the Church are working closely with local authorities and civil protection partners in those two countries to implement the most effective resources to alleviate the devastation.”
