Over 39 pints of blood were generously donated by the local community on Monday 25th November 2013. Two sessions were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, New Penkridge Road, Cannock and they proved to be so busy, with the demand being so high to give blood, that people were being asked to re-book for another day. Thanks to the kindness of the Cannock community this blood will be used to help save lives.
John Roche, Donor Relations Assistant for NHS Blood and Transplant commented; “The staff were very pleased with the venue, and the donor numbers which normally drop on a first visit to a new venue were only dropped by a small percent, which we were very pleased with. I shouldn’t wonder if a few people from your church boosted this figure.”
Bishop Mark Gilbert, Church leader of the Cannock congregation said; “We are so pleased that we were able to support the crucial work of the Blood Transfusion Service, and that the event was so successful. We look forward to having future sessions to be held in the coming year.”
