UK Mormons invited to a Jubilee Day of Service

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the United Kingdom have been invited by the Europe Area Presidency to prepare to offer service on Saturday June 2nd as a Jubilee Day of Service.  This day of dedication is to mark the anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year of 2012 and to ‘respect her personal example of Christian service which Her Majesty has rendered on behalf of all her peoples.'

Members around the United Kingdom are invited to bring their friends and family along to participate in local projects, which can be organised by the Ward or Stake in the community, wearing the Helping Hands distinctive yellow tabards and t shirts.  Refreshments and a social occasion may follow the service project which is for all ages to enjoy.

The Europe Area Presidency have stated, ‘May we use this occasion to unite with our fellow citizens in our local communities to honour the service of Her Majesty The Queen and , in the manner of the Saviour, “who went about doing good.”’
