The Sunday Times Visits A Mormon Congregation in London

The Sunday Times recently visited a Mormon congregation at their Sunday services in Clapham Common, London. Bishop Chris Cooke, who conducted the congregation’s worship, and Church spokesperson Debbie Twigger, were interviewed for the newspaper’s video feature.   The Sunday Times asked questions about Mormon worship, history, and The Book of Mormon.

The segment includes a special glimpse into the Sunday services of Clapham Common ward, which Bishop Cooke said includes hymns and talks. He explains that members of the congregation volunteer in the services. He said, “The membership [is] given responsibilities, so everyone is a lay minister in some way.”

Debbie Twigger emphasized that the Mormon faith is a Christian faith, named The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is concerned with serving one another and the community. Bishop Cooke concluded that this generous service and shared gospel love brings “great… joy and happiness.”

The video segment was published on 9th September and appeared on both The Sunday Times’ newspaper app and their website.
