Bishop Richard Shuttleworth welcomed the Baha’i members and those of Stockport Interfaith and Catherine Eckersley, a Baha’i, introduced the programme. Statements in response to the bombing were read from Greater Manchester Interfaith and Elder Patrick Kearon, Europe Area President of the Church.
Added to prayers, chants, and writings of Abdu’l-Baha and Baha’u’llah were excerpts from Worldwide LDS leaders, President Uchtdorf’s conference address, ‘Perfect Love Casteth Out Fear’ and President Boyd K Packer’s 1995 broadcast, ‘The Play and The Plan’. Members of Manchester’s regional LDS choir sang and the Baha’i visitors provided refreshments. Friendships were made and the horror of the terrorist bombing brought unity in Stockport.
