Members of Manchester stake sang carols in four part harmony in St Ann’s Square in the city for less than an hour and raised £90.20 for Wythenshawe and Trafford Wheelers.
Under the direction of Bro. John Saunders and with Bro. David Morley at the organ the rain did not dampen the spirits of the singers or the passers by who listened, applauded, joined in, made requests and donated.
The Wheelers provide bicycles for the disabled so that they and their families can enjoy cycling together in Wythenshawe Park near the stake centre. The bike on display fascinated young boys who stopped to find out how it worked.
Singing in the Christmas markets is now a regular part of the stake’s Christmas activities and a different charity is chosen each year.
