The BBC One network television series ‘Call the Council’ has featured the efforts of Mormons from the Liverpool area who transformed a cemetery obscured by overgrown plants.
In partnering with Wigan Council, local members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints not only helped out the local authority but also made a real difference to local people who can now get better access to family graves.
One hundred and fifty volunteers donned their ‘Mormon Helping Hands’ tabards and went to work with saws and sheers, putting in 750 hours of service in cleaning up the graveyard.
