Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Manchester area brought families and friends to begin their Christmas season including special guests The Deputy Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Mrs. Judith Lloyd, accompanied by the Deputy Mayoress of Trafford, Ms Noelle Ryder, and David Rutley MP to celebrate the Saviour’s birth at the annual Christmas concert held on December 20th. There was an overwhelming attendance of 540.
The regional choir sang a wonderful Cantata ‘Love Came down at Christmas’ which reflected the theme for this special occasion. The choir excelled as they sang this Cantata, which had been chosen by John Saunders, their beloved Choir Director, who had sadly passed away only a few weeks previously.
The choir wanted to perform their very best as a fitting tribute to him.
In addition to this, Church members gave generous donations to the collection for the refugee crisis. There was an impressive response as items were collected in a Santa’s sleigh on the evening and were delivered the following day to the British Red Cross and Refugees Aid from the NW of England, who were responsible for distributing the donations for the European refugees.
