The first ever Education Weekend conference will be held in Oxford, 17-19 July 2015. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and people of all faiths are invited to participate in this continuing education event. Classes cover a range of fascinating spiritual and practical topics. BYU London Centre and Deseret News sponsor the conference and theme is “The Tradition of Enquiry.”

"The conference is organised by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but aims to gather people from many faiths together to learn and discuss with each other. Our speakers are Latter-day Saint, Jewish, Buddhist, Church of England, and Muslim and we hope to be impressed with both our differences and like-mindedness. The conference also aims to combine spiritual and practical learning,” said Dr. Kate Worlton Pulham, conference director.. “Education Weekend will be uplifting and rewarding as we have excellent speakers on topics ranging from gospel principles to history, literature, science, education, business, and more.”
Friday and Saturday Classes
Education Weekend classes are taught by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as prominent thought leaders from the Church of England, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim and other Christian faiths. They are experts in their fields, and will prioritise audience discussion.
Sunday Services and Fireside
After morning church services, a class on the translation of the Bible into English in Oxford will be held at the very college attended by biblical translator and Protestant reformer William Tyndale. The conference concludes Sunday evening with a fireside and discussion.
Evening Musical Service
Choral Evensong can be enjoyed in the beautiful Christ Church Cathedral. Evensong at Christ Church Cathedral is a long-standing tradition that attracts the Oxford area’s best choirs.
Activities
A variety of other activities are available, including:
· Walking tour of Oxford
· Croquet on historic Old Quadrangle lawn at Hertford College
· Punting on the Cherwell River
· Guided tour of Christ Church College with Head Porter, Philip Tootill
