Missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who are serving in the Coventry area, came together to help Father Christmas as he toured the streets of Willenhall, Coventry, collecting money for local charities. The missionaries who helped were from all corners of the world, including two from Brisbane Australia, one from Sao Paulo, Brazil, another from North Carolina in the United States and one from Lima, Peru.

The Santa Sleigh event was organised by the five Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Coventry and the money collected on the night was destined for Myton Hospice, the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and a number of other local charities.
The missionaries, who are normally engaged in teaching people about Jesus Christ, are also encouraged to serve within their local communities. Elder Vilela from Lima Peru said, “It’s good to be able to help people at this time of year and feel of the unity of all of the children of God.”
Bishop Craig White, the leader of the church in the Coventry area said, “Spending the evening with our friends from Rotary to raise money for such good causes is something we look forward to. Seeing so many families with young children, excited to see Santa made the evening even more worthwhile. Helping local charities is really important to us as members of the church and we are always looking for opportunities to help."
