Elder Heber C Kimball and six other missionaries land in Liverpool, England, July 1837. The first nine baptisms soon take place. It is not long before the work blossoms. By 1851, there is a harvest of 34,000 converts in the British Isles (nearly three times more than the American membership at the time).
